The adventures of Mimi Brocoli and the Children of the Forest School take place in Norway and are aimed at children from 5 to 8 years old.

At this school you meet children with different backgrounds. Their personal journeys explore current topics such as immigration, death, same-sex parents, family origins, global warming, etc. as well as other cultures (one theme per book).

Mimi Brocoli is an atypical school teacher, a bit crazy, with an offbeat profile (mixed parentage with curly hair -that looks like a broccoli- in a Nordic country).

In this first episode she discovers a colorful ancestor, whom she does not fail to introduce to her little students...

A fantastic and original story, that takes you on a journey through time and space!
Martine Vanderheyden

Martine Vanderheyden

Martine Vanderheyden was born in Belgium to a Belgian father and a Rwandan mother. Teacher and founder of the publishing house Editions NAKUONA Forlag, she has been living in Norway since 2006. Her professional background, as well as her status as the mother of four 'little Vikings', allows her to know the extraordinary world of children's literature. As she couldn't find enough books dealing with themes that are dear to her, she wondered: "How to tell children difficult stories while keeping a part of dream and hope?"
